Elyse Denorfia is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) practicing in Connecticut and New York, as well as a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) practicing in Massachusetts, with a focus on trauma recovery and emotional well-being. She holds both a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Social Work from Westfield State University in Massachusetts and is a Certified Therapist and Consultant in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) through the EMDR International Association (EMDRIA), and has advanced training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and mindfulness-based approaches.

Elyse has a rich background working across diverse settings in Massachusetts, Connecticut, and New York, including residential schools, foster care services, state-supported programs, community mental health clinics, and private practice. She has extensive experience with clients from varied cultural backgrounds and those navigating neurological and intellectual disabilities.

With a particular emphasis on EMDR therapy, Elyse helps clients process and heal from traumatic experiences, deeply embedded emotional distress, and past wounds that continue to affect their daily lives. She works with adults experiencing symptoms related to trauma and PTSD, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, low self-esteem and self-worth, and life transitions.

Elyse's mission is to break down the barriers to accessing mental health care. Understanding that many face limitations in finding quality services, she offers secure online therapy sessions that accommodate your busy life and individual needs. Her approach fosters a safe, compassionate environment where you can rediscover your inner strength in order to heal from within.

Chelsea and Saxon are not quite therapy dogs, but since therapy services are telehealth, they are typically in-office lounging on a dog bed on the floor or the couch behind me. They occasionally pop up in sessions or briefly protest a delivery truck driving around the neighborhood, but are usually quiet for the majority of sessions. They are older rescue pups that bring a lot of joy to my life.
