Individual Therapy
While we may pull from a variety of therapeutic modalities and therapeutic techniques to address the needs of each client, our primary therapeutic modality is EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing). EMDR therapy is a comprehensive evidence-based psychotherapy that works to help individuals process and heal from traumatic memories and other distressing life experiences. EMDR empowers clients to access specific aspects of disturbing memories that cause clients continued distress, then uses bilateral stimulation of the brain (through eye moments, auditory, or tactile means) to reduce the distress and allow for a new and more integrated understanding.
EMDR therapy is useful in extensively researched in treating PTSD and other trauma-related disorders. Ongoing research supports positive clinical outcomes of EMDR therapy as a useful treatment for disorders such as anxiety, depression, chronic pain, addictions, compulsive behaviors, and other distressing life experiences.
Clients must be located in their state of residence at time of session.
